Sharon’s Bio
Sharon began her journey working
with Healing Energy & Intuitive
healing 18 years ago. She has
natural abilities to calm, counsel,
comfort and connect to Source has
been with her since she was a child.
Sharon is an EarthKeeper, Reiki Master, and Empowerment Coach that imbues and combines healing energies from Peru/Inka, First Nations, Pagan, Druid, Buddhist & other methods of healing. She is a certified life skills coach and group facilitator has facilitated groups for 28 years. She was a Youth worker that worked with fourth generation gang members, addictions, abuse, trauma, and worked in Indigenous girls group homes. While at one of the group homes she prevented a young girl from being forced into an arranged marriage with an older man. She offered knowledge and respect about the traditions around these cultures for greater understanding of how other traditional beliefs can put younger girls in danger.
Reiki opened her world of working with energy in 2003, becoming a Shinpiden Reiki Master in 2010 where her knowledge and ability has grown rapidly. Although Reiki is known and used all over the world some people have underestimated and misunderstood its purpose. Reiki is a life long learning and practice, just as most modalities should be. When people have seen the description of "Reiki Master" people have assumed that we are all enlightened. Some may have attained a greater peace and connection but ultimately being a Reiki Master means a great responsibility to our own healing journey as well as to everyone and to EVERY living thing. Reiki is a practice of healing for ourselves and others, it is continuing the learning and transformation of energy in our own lives and the lives of others.
She is a Sage, Energy Medicine woman who practices Inca, First Nations, Buddhism, Pagan and other spiritualism. Ultimately labels are ways for others to gain better understanding but for Sharon she feels "I am what I need to be when I need to be it".
Sharon is a strong yet peaceful activist for Indigenous people around the world, First Nations Rights & Treaties. She has participated in the Winnipeg "Water is Life" protest, marched in the Tina Fontaine/Farrane Hill supporting Indigenous MMIW. She supports all cultures and nations that have been colonized and abused by governments past and present. She is also a strong advocate for LGBTQ community and identifies as Two Spirited. She uses her advocacy skills to educate misinformation in person or in media settings.
Sharon became an earthkeeper in 2008 trained by two Mesa Carriers in traditional Munay Ki Rites, Fire Ceremony & Anyi Despacho. These are Shamanic traditions from the Lakia, ancestors of the Inca from Peru. Munay means "Love" and "ki" means energy or life force. The Nine Rites of initiation help heal, transform and illuminate your mind, body and spirit which you then become a "steward" for all life and the universe.
The Fire Ceremony is like all sacred Indigenous ceremonies that offer connection, transformation and healing. The Anyi Despacho is a living prayer done by passing around offerings to everyone in the circle. Each person whispers their wishes to release or receive into each offering. Despacho is a time to ask for forgiveness, strength, compassion, support, healing and love...etc. whatever we must to to recenter and re-balance all our relationships in and around us.
Munay Ki traditions are the most loving...healing energy I have ever witnessed for myself and others. While going through these Munay Ki Rites people's lives have gone from despair, depression, devastation, separations, grief, trauma and a wide range of shifts....into fulfillment and hope, happiness, joy, wholeness, clarity and love.
Each day is a practice and a promise to do and be the best we can be for others but it also means understanding that we are human....living a life and healing from it. Some have attained their Master level which for some all they needed was the energy to help them shift. But for those who continue this path to teach and treat, it means we must continue to practice, continue our learning, be conscious and aware of our own journey.
Sharon was invited to speak on her creation "BearFoot Bliss ~Walking Meditation With Nature™" for 40 teachers at the University of Winnipeg. She has done public speaking on subjects that include, racism, stereotypes, disabilities, empowerment, meditation, Reiki, understanding energy, women’s issues and much more. She is passionate about empowerment and sharing her knowledge to assist people in letting go of old ways and teachings that no longer serve one’s life.
She is referred to as “Mamma Bear” by others, because of her empowering messages and connections that is done with firm, yet loving compassionate approach to everyone’s unique healing path. She works hard to create powerful methods and workshops that resonate with each person. Above all, Sharon is a being like everyone else, she is real, authentic and holds integrity as her highest value. Her description of herself is "I am what I need to be...when I need to be it. She is here to be of service….we are all….walking each other home.
